3D Smart Dimensioning
Smart Dimensioning allows you to mouse over your model(s) and quickly determine object point coordinates and lengths, distances between objects, angle measurements, and more.
Depending on the object, SpinFire will present a menu of possible measurement choices.
Smart Edge Dimension
With this command, you can quickly and easily determine edge lengths, edge to point and edge to arc center distances, and the minimum distance between two edges. You can also choose to measure arc characteristics, such as diameter, radius, center coordinates, and the distance between two arc centers.
Smart Surface Dimension
Use this command to quickly and easily determine surface point coordinates; distances between a surface and a point, edge, or another surface; and surface angles.
To Create a Smart Edge Dimension:
- Select the Smart Dimension Icon and Select Edge
- Hover your cursor over an Edge
- Selecting the Edge creates the Default dimension, such as Length or Diameter.
- Right-click on a highlighted Edge to see the Smart Dimension Options
- Select an Option and select another Edge

To Create a Smart Surface Dimension:
- Select the Smart Dimension Icon and Select Surface
- Hover your cursor over a Surface
- You will see the Draft Angle Value display, which indicates the Angle Dimension and, if you select the surface, will create the dimension markup
- Selecting the Edge creates the Default dimension, such as Length or Diameter.
- Right-click on a highlighted Surface to see the Smart Dimension Options
- Select an Option and select another Surface
